Meet the A-team: Love Tenkorang, Business Development Manager at AVOW

1. As a BD Manager, Love Tenkorang, you’re often the first person a potential partner meets. How do you translate the ‘AVOW magic’ to someone who is discovering us for the first time?

I translate AVOW magic through clarity and warmth. People can tell when you genuinely care about their success. I focus on listening first, then I connect the dots, our OEM access, our scale, and how we can actually drive performance. I keep things simple: what the client is trying to achieve, what market matters most, and how fast we can test and learn together. I always try to make the first conversation feel easy,  like we’re already on the same team.

2. The mobile advertising landscape moves fast. What is one trend you’re currently obsessed with, and how is it shaping your conversations with clients?

One trend I’m really excited about right now is how OEM advertising is evolving from a ‘nice little test’ into a real third growth pillar alongside the traditional channels. It’s quickly becoming a core part of the UA mix. With rising CPIs and privacy changes, clients want scalable channels that still bring quality users. So now we’re talking less about ‘trying OEMs’ and more about building a strategy we can test, optimize, and scale long-term.

3. In sales and BD, ‘No’ is part of the daily diet. How do you stay motivated, and what’s your secret for turning a ‘No’ into a ‘Not yet’?

I’ve accepted that ‘No’ is part of the job description. I don’t take ‘No’ personally anymore. Most of the time, it’s timing, financial priorities, or internal bandwidth. However, I always maintain a warm relationship. The industry is quite webbed…A no from a prospect from one company may be a yes at their next company. At the end of the day, people remember how you made them feel, and that’s what opens doors later.

I stay motivated by remembering that every ‘No’ is still information. My secret for ‘Not yet’ is staying consistent, being helpful, and showing up later with some valuable insights, not by being overly persistent after a no.

4. AVOW is known for its diversity. How has working with so many different cultures changed the way you negotiate or build relationships?

Working across so many cultures has taught me that relationship-building looks different everywhere. Some people value directness, others value trust and consistency first. So I’ve learned to listen more, read the room better, and adapt my communication style while still being clear and reliable. Because when trust is there, everything else – timelines, budget negotiations, even challenges becomes easier to navigate.

5. If you weren’t a Business Development Manager, what would be your ‘impossible’ dream job?”

I’d be a professional matchmaker for busy people who are tired of swiping and wasting time on dating apps. Basically… BD but for love. And funny enough, I already have a few success stories, so it might actually be my calling.

6. The Golden Rule: If you had to give one ‘Golden Rule’ of advice to someone starting their first day in Business Development at AVOW, what would it be?

Start with a blank sheet, because your old playbook might not always work here. Stay humble and ask every question, especially the ‘stupid’ ones.

7. The “Lightning Round.”

Which do you find more satisfying: The thrill of the initial hunt or the satisfaction of signing the contract?

Honestly… signing the contract. The hunt can be exciting, but closing and going live is so satisfying!

What’s the one mobile app you’ve downloaded recently that you think is a total game-changer?

I love reading, but I rarely have time to sit down with a book these days. Speechify has made it so easy  I can ‘LISTEN’ to my books on the go, whether I’m travelling, commuting, or running around, and I still get to enjoy my favourites.

Home office zen or the buzz of the Berlin HQ?

HQ buzz when I need energy and ideas, home office when I need deep focus.
