OOBE (Out of Box Experience)

What is the OOBE?

This refers to what happens when a user turns on their phone for the first time, right out of the box. The goal is to provide a great user experience, while streamlining how your app is presented to the user during setup. These include guidelines for the size of the icons, guidelines on titles and app descriptions, and so on. The typical OOBE user flow involved the user turning on their phone for the first time, and during set up, being presented with a set of app suggestions for them to install over-the-air (OTA). Users have the choice of opting in or out of downloading these apps.

OOBE is also known as Google PAI or Dynamic Preloads.
